Visit Our Tropical Rainforest

In Mrs. Korrow's 2nd grade class, we took a "field trip" through a tropical rainforest.  The students began learning about the location, weather, layers, plants, and animals of the rainforest in Science Lab.

So, we decided to take it one step further! We created a tropical rainforest mural to display in the hall outside our classroom.
Each child chose the layer that he or she would like to be in, and then selected an animal from that layer to research.  Yes! Research in 2nd grade!!  They did such an amazing job :)

Each child helped paint the layers of the rainforest (the kids even got our principal, Mr. Sinanis to help paint).  We hope you enjoy the pictures of our rainforest.  We worked so hard, and LOVED working on this project together!  What teamwork!!

  4. That is amazing!! I'm so impressed with the dedication and hard work on this project. Dylan came home everyday and was so excited to tell us what new information he learned about tree frogs. He spent hours online looking for pictures. I can tell all the students experienced the same excitement through the end result of this amazing project. Good job!!!!!
